Preparing for the class
What to Wear
You don’t need any specialist training gear for Buggyfit. All Buggyfit classes can be carried out wearing your ordinary gym gear and trainers. Make sure your trainers have a good grip on the soles and your wearing a good supportive sports bra.
In the winter months you will need to bring a rain cover for the buggy and a waterproof jacket for yourself. Make sure baby has a nice snuggly blanket to keep them warm while we train.
In the summer months make sure you and your baby are wearing full sun protection and a cotton hat (for both of you) is advisable.
What else do I need to bring?
Please make sure you have a water bottle for yourself and also prepare your baby’s feed(s) to bring with you if they are due to be fed during or close to the class finishing time.
Sometimes in wet conditions your buggy and you may get a bit muddy, so if you’re driving to the meeting point I would suggest a spare pair of shoes to change into and maybe a mat for the boot of the car.
Anything Else?
If it’s your first time at a Buggyfit session try and arrive a few minutes early so we can have a chat and talk through any concerns you might have about the programme.
Buggyfit is an ideal low impact exercise that should only be undertaken once you have had your 6 weeks postnatal clearance from your GP or Midwife.
You will be required to complete a health screening questionnaire prior to participating in your 1st session.
You should expect to have a nice healthy glow after our class which shows that you have raised your heart rate but don’t worry I won’t be sending you home all sweaty and uncomfortable!
The main thing is you get to spend an hour focusing on yourself without the worry of dashing back to your baby and that you get out and about to meet other mums at the same time.
Booking
All Buggyfit courses are based on a 6 session block booking and if you wanted to attend more than one session per week you can. To check availability and book visit our book online page.
Discounts are available on your block bookings if you pay for 11 sessions you will receive your 12th session free.
All fees are payable in advance by either cash, cheque or electronic transfer (please make cheques payable to Mumsbumsandtums)
All health screening questionnaires must be completed by the participant prior to exercise and where ever possible return these to me so I can go through any issues you have in private with you before we start the class.
The only time we won’t have a class is when the weather is unbearable i.e. Heavy rain or snow & ice.
Because we are in open spaces and you don’t have a “reception” to report to for your classes it’s always best to let me know by phone or e-mail (if you know in advance that is) if you’re not going to be able to attend, so that we don’t wait too long for you to arrive and we can offer you place others.
Where classes are full a minimum of 2 hours will be required for your cancellation otherwise your session fee will be used against your booking for that day.
